- Richmond University Medical Center -RUMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center, a state-designated Stroke Center, and a regional Perinatal Center for high risk expectant mothers. The medical staff includes leaders in areas such as orthopedics, pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology, urology, oncology and cardiology. The neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) has the lowest mortality rate in the metropolitan area, and the maternity services include the opportunity for private maternity suite. - The Administrative Director is responsible for the supervision and management of the care coordination and facilitation, utilization management and discharge planning processes performed by qualified registered nurses, social workers, physician and support staff.
- Oversees the development and implementation of systems and processes to ensue optimal clinical and financial outcomes are met.
- Ensures that positive patient and financial outcomes are achieved through the appropriate screening, discharge planning and placement of patient. Develops transitional strategies to address movement form inpatient to community status.
- Refines and improves departmental processes to meet evolving needs of patient populations, and the healthcare team and the hospital.
- Develops, integrates and implements system utilized in the case management process. Responsible for the ongoing evolution of the case management program and its integration of inpatient and outpatient services.
- Ensures compliance of clinical and utilization review activities to meet regulatory requirement. Plans and coordinates short and long term projects to continuously improve the outcomes of the care management program.
- Administrative Director assumes 24 hours accountability for the coordination and supervision of the Case management Department.
